We are excited that TV2 Kosmopol in Denmark recently featured DinnerBooking for one of our favourite features, No-Show Alerts. This feature helps restaurants tackle no-shows caused by double bookings.

As TV2 points out, in busy cities it is not uncommon for guests to book multiple restaurants at the same time. Sometimes it happens intentionally, and sometimes by accident. Our system alerts them when a guest has overlapping bookings, giving them the chance to check in with the guest and prevent empty tables.

“It is simply to help restaurants spot whether a guest has multiple bookings, intentionally or not,” says our owner Peter Thygesen. “This way, the restaurant can reach out and check whether the guest will show up.”

Built with privacy in mind

No-show Alerts was built with guest privacy in mind. Restaurants cannot see which other restaurants were booked and personal details are never shared across platforms. The system simply flags the fact that a guest has more than one reservation at the same time.

Feedback from both restaurants and guests has been positive. Some guests may feel a little embarrassed if they double-booked intentionally, while others appreciate the friendly reminder. Restaurants report that it is a useful tool to prevent empty tables without creating awkward situations.

Industry support

We are excited that industry organisation HORESTA also welcomes this initiative. According to CEO Jeppe Møller-Herskind: “There are guests who can book a table at two different restaurants at the same time, and I think it’s great that they can be stopped.”

Alerty o niestawieniu się help restaurants avoid empty tables on busy nights. They also make it possible for more guests to enjoy a meal, especially in cities with many dining options.

The TV2 segment highlights how No-Show Alerts can make a real difference for restaurants, helping turn potential scheduling mishaps into smooth dining experiences. You can check out the full post tutaj.
